University Apartments
Welcome to the University Apartments Family & Graduate Housing page. The University Apartments at Eastern include 130 efficiency and one-bedroom apartments.
The apartments are designed to meet the needs of student families and single graduate students. Below is the information you will need to apply. All assignments are made on the basis of date of application. The $50.00 non-refundable application fee must accompany the application form.
Utilities
All utilities, including basic phone service, cable TV hookup, Internet, water, gas, electric, and trash removal are included in semester rental fee.
Same Sex Roommates
Same sex roommates, who are also single graduate students, will be allowed if prior approval is received from the Office of University Housing & Dining Services. The Office of University Housing & Dining Services will not assign roommates. Summer Living Residents who are living in the University Apartments in the Spring semester and have pre-enrolled for the Fall semester are not required to be enrolled for summer sessions.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in the apartments for obvious health and sanitation reasons.
Parking
Several lots are located adjacent to the apartment buildings. A parking permit is required to park in these lots. These can be purchased from the University Police Department when you arrive on campus.
Schools and Day Care
The University Apartments are on the school bus route for the Charleston Public School system. The Charleston Community Day Care Center is located next door to the University Apartments. Although not affiliated with the university, the Day Care Center cares for many University Apartment children.
