Councils and Committee in the Honors College
Without these councils and committees, the Honors College administration and staff would have a difficult time doing all of the business it needs to get done in order to effectively have any of the programs.
Honors Council
Composed of faculty, staff and students from throughout the university, the Honors Council was established in 1982 and is tasked with advising the dean of the Honors College on any matter pertaining to Honors programming at Eastern. Honors Council members serve as interviewers and reviewers of applicants for the Presidential Scholars Award.
Student Advisory Board
The Honors College Student Advisory Board provides advice to the dean of the Honors College on matters pertaining to Honors programming. It also allows students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and provides the opportunity for students to discuss their concerns in a collegial forum.
Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (URSCA) Committee
Members of the URSCA Committee review, and recommend for funding, student research, scholarship, and creative activities on campus that the Honors College supports. Members of URSCA also recommend travel stipends for students and faculty presentations at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).
Showcase - Exploration and Inquiry by Undergraduates (Showcase EIU)
The Showcase EIU Committee reviews and selects undergraduate research and creative projects that are presented annually to members of the general campus and community.
