Taylor Hall is one of twelve residence halls on Eastern Illinois University's campus. At full capacity Taylor Hall houses 625 coed students. The building has two, five story towers joined by a common lobby for a total of ten floors.
In the basement of both towers are laundry facilities for the students residing in Taylor Hall. In addition, there is a computer lab that is available to all students living in University Housing. There is also a dining facility that is attached to the building.
There are many opportunities for students to get involved with their community. The Resident Assistant (RA) on each floor presents programs for the students living on their floor as was as in the residence hall. There are ten RA's who assist with developing an all inclusive community which fosters encouragement and support. The RA serves as a resource person to each member living in Taylor Hall. In addition to the RA staff, there is also an opportunity to involve yourself in the Hall Council or the governing body of Taylor Hall, Taylor & Co.
Taylor & Co.'s executive board is made up of seven members to assist in leading the organization. Each position is an elected office voted on by the residents of Taylor Hall. The primary focus of Taylor & Co. is to involve the residents in the community of Taylor Hall as well as the community of EIU. The organization provides many opportunities to gain leadership experience through the programming efforts and the committees that are developed.
