WEIU TV: Dieterich: This is Our Story April 25

(Charleston, IL) -- WEIU TV's Dieterich: This Is Our Story is scheduled to broadcast live on air and online on Thursday, April 25th at 7:00pm on WEIU TV.

WEIU TV is presenting Dieterich: This Is Our Story which features the town’s community members as they share stories that are important to Dieterich and its history. The program features 16 storytellers, all with unique tales of local businesses and events that helped form Dieterich as it is known today. Each volunteer storyteller has provided their own photos and videos specific to their story that will be used in the final program. Staff members from WEIU met with the storytellers in multiple meetings leading up to the filming day, where they set up in the heart of the town and filmed each volunteer in order to capture the essence of Dieterich and what it means to the town’s residents.

WEIU had the pleasure of interviewing Dieterich residents about topics closely related to them. Featured in the program is Bill McClain and Cary Jackson with the Dieterich Schools, John Wright with Wright’s Furniture, Tom Niebrugge with Dieterich Bank, Brittny Gipson and Brad Hardiek with stories on business and residential buildings, Traci Bruns and Charity Bonhoff with the Wright Family Center and House Raffle, Brett Higgs with Higgs Welding, Carrie Galbraith with History of Dieterich, Valerie Sanguinetti with the Machine Gun Company and Fritscher Family, Donnie Dorn with the Veteran’s Memorial, Gisele Hamm with the Mapping the Future of Your Community program, Scott Wohltman talking about the Red Top Capital of the World, Diane Aherin with Dieterich Volunteerism, and Tom Wright with the Dieterich Community Development Corporation.

This program was also made possible in part by the following underwriters; Dieterich Bank, Niebrugge Lumber Company, Inc., Wright’s Furniture & Flooring, Village of Dieterich, EJ Water, and the Illinois Arts Council.

The live broadcast on Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m. will also live stream on the WEIU website, the WEIU TV Public Broadcasting Station Facebook page, Hulu, YouTube, as well as live television. Dieterich: This is Our Story will be made available to viewers though the WEIU fundraising efforts throughout the love broadcast.  You will have the opportunity to donate to WEIU and receive a DVD, Blue-Ray or digital copy  of the program through the WEIU website or by calling the phone number on your screen during the live breaks throughout the broadcast on April 25.
