(Charleston, IL) – This spring, Eastern Illinois University will offer opportunities for prospective students to familiarize themselves with the variety of programs, services and resources EIU has to offer.
“Visiting EIU is a great way to experience student life and learn more about EIU’s academic opportunities,” said Kelly Miller, EIU’s director of admissions. “There are many opportunities for prospective students to schedule a campus visit and to talk with faculty members in various fields and disciplines.”
EIU Open Houses and Saturday Campus Visits this spring at Eastern include:
Monday, March 30; Monday, July 20
Open Houses at EIU will take provide a walking tour of campus and residence halls; a free lunch; a chance to learn more about the admissions, financial aid, and housing process; an opportunity to meet faculty from all EIU majors. Open House participants also will have the chance to apply at the university that day with the standard $30 application fee waived entirely.
Saturday Campus visits at EIU will provide group admissions presentations, campus tour times at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and a visit to the university’s residence halls.
In addition to these events for unadmitted students, special opportunities also are available for already-admitted students. On-Campus Admitted Student Days and #FuturePanther Fridays for already-admitted EIU students include:
Participants can meet faculty within their intended major; receive next steps information from admissions, housing & financial aid; and learn about financial aid and counseling options the university has available.

Participants in EIU’s #FuturePanthers Fridays will have the opportunity to customize their visit experiences; schedule individualized meetings with admissions, financial aid, or faculty; and take an optional campus and residence hall tour.
If those days won’t work for prospective and students with busy schedules, EIU also offers daily visits Mondays through Fridays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when prospective students can tour campus, visit residence halls, meet with an admissions counselor, and visit the enrollment offices.
