EIU recruits and educates some amazing students. This month's story is about Edwyn Mitchell. Edwyn came to EIU as a freshman from Homewood Flossmoor High School in Fall 2015, and ever since stepping on campus Edwyn has been excelling in his studies and in his extracurricular pursuits. He has had a positive and meaningful impact on all those around him, and his passion for EIU shows every day.
While at EIU, Edwyn has become a multi-award winning public speaker with two consecutive first-place U.S. National Championship titles in Persuasive Speaking. He also has applied his incredible talents to being an advocate for Eastern, where he has done an incredible job as a tour guide, and as a presentation speaker at many of the university's prospective student events. When he speaks, EIU audiences are listening.
