*UPDATED: Charleston, Illinois Wins Governor's Hometown Award (with Video)

*Updated Information:

WEIU FM and TV is inviting the public to a viewing of the video that helped Charleston win the Governor's Hometown Award for our beautiful Lake View Trails.

WEIU partnered with the City of Charleston to produce a 22-minute video that was shown to the judges in Springfield, IL. This video represented a visual illustration, along with a presentation given by City of Charleston officials, that ultimately led to this outstanding recognition for the community.

WEIU invites campus and community members to the Buzzard Auditorium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University for a 6:30 p.m. video viewing and celebration reception Monday, October 23. Station tours will be available following the reception.
