|U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America Freedom Wings|
The Doudna Fine Arts Center welcomes the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America Freedom Winds on Valentine’s Day -- Feb. 14. The group’s diverse repertoire includes jazz and ragtime classics, along with popular themes from Broadway’s hit shows to Hollywood’s greatest films.
The 7:30 p.m. concert is presented free of charge, but a ticket is required for admittance to Dvorak Concert Hall.
Composed of six virtuoso airman musicians, the group’s members have diverse musical interests, which leads to programs with something for everyone. In addition to showcasing traditional woodwind music, the Freedom Winds take audiences on a tour of some of the most beautiful and exciting music from various cultures around the world.
In addition to performing community outreach concerts, the Freedom Winds are called on to provide music for military retirements, changes of command, holiday caroling for military and civilian employees, and other official military functions.
The free tickets for the Freedom Winds concert are available at the Doudna Box Office or can be reserved by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Box Office hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, and one hour prior to the scheduled performance.
