Graduate Assistantships

Are you a student looking to gain hands-on experience while completing your graduate studies? Apply for one of our elite Graduate Assistantship positions today!

The EIU Department of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation offers seven Exercise Science Graduate Assistantships each year. This is a great opportunity for graduate students, accepted to the KSR Exercise Science program, who want to gain hands-on experiences in addition to graduate coursework.

The Exercise Science Graduate Assistantships are designed to coincide with the 1-year Exercise Science Master’s program starting in the fall semester and concluding at the end of the spring semester. Compensation includes a monthly stipend for 18-20 hours of work per week in the department and a tuition waiver for fall and spring semesters. An additional tuition waiver for the summer semester is available for Graduate Assistants who adequately fulfill their GA responsibilities in the fall and spring semesters.

Applications will be reviewed by the KSR department faculty starting in the spring semester prior to the year to which a student is applying. Qualified applicants will be interviewed beginning the month of March and interviews will continue until all positions are filled. Only COMPLETED applications will be considered. For more information, please contact Dr. Andrew Kerins, KSR Graduate Coordinator, at
