Undergraduate Cost of Study

All international students must prove a minimum amount of money to study at EIU for one academic year (two semesters). These costs will appear on Form I-20 or DS-2019. The approximate cost for the 2017-2018 academic year of study (August to May) are as follows:

 Eligibility 

Requirements

 

1 Undergraduate tuition and Scholarship amount is based on enrollment 12 credit hours per semester. Cost per credit hour is $370.00. Please note these costs are estimates and may vary if online courses are taken.

*OISS reminds students that your current health insurance policy may provide benefits while attending Eastern Illinois University. If you do not have insurance or if your insurance does not cover you during this time, we strongly recommend a comprehensive health insurance plan. Costs for insurance plans will vary depending on amount and length of coverage.

3 Living expenses estimated for single student only. You should allow $5,000.00 per year for your spouse and $2,000.00 per year for each child to pay for their food housing medical care and other miscellaneous expenses.

*Please expect an approximate increase each year.

4 International Student Scholarship maximum awards are $3000 per semester for undergraduate students.

5 Undergraduate International Excellence awards are calculated on in-state tuition rates ($1728 per year).

*While pursuing a second bachelor's degree, you will be assessed tuition and fees at the graduate student rate. These rates can be viewed here.”
