Check your EIU email!

Announcements and personal messages from university offices, instructors, and advisors will be sent to your EIU email (panthermail) account. It is very important for students to monitor this account on a daily basis. If you are having trouble with your panthermail account, contact 217-581-4357 for assistance.

Come prepared for your appointment.

Review your Degree Audit and be aware of the remaining requirements/courses for your program. Bring a list of courses you plan to add to your schedule for the up-coming semester.

Check that your account is clear of any holds that may prohibit you from being able to register for courses. You can check your status by logging into PAWS and under the Student tab, click on Student Account. From there, you will click on Account Detail by Term. On the next screen, you will see a drop down box to select the current semester. In the upper right, click the Holds button to review any holds that may be on your account.

What is required for my program of study?

Students should become familiar with the online degree audit available through their PAWS account. Your advisor can teach you how to use this tool as well. Your advisor will assist you with understanding your catalog and curriculum requirements by using a checklist. Feel free to ask your advisor for an updated copy during your registration advisement appointment.

Schedule Planner

Schedule Planner is available on PAWS to help students find class times that best fit into their best schedule. Utilizing this system will allow students to schedule classes around work or other events. To find Schedule Planner, sign into PAWS, click on the Student menu, go to the Registration menu and look for the Schedule Planner link at the bottom of the items listed. For more information on using this tool, please watch the following video.

Please remember that choosing courses using Schedule Planner does NOT add them to your schedule, you must still register for them separately.

When do I register?

Registration dates are published by the Office of the Registrar (Registration and Records).
