Full-Time Instructor in US and Public History Position Announcement

The History Department at Eastern Illinois University is seeking applicants for a one-year, full- time instructorship in US history. Subfields open; ability to teach public history courses, broadly defined, required. The successful candidate will teach the US-surveys, upper-division courses, and courses that relate to the fields in which public-facing historians work, such as museums, preservation, digital humanities, librarianship, and archives. The successful candidate will contribute to the public history minor. The candidate might be able to teach MA and online courses as needed, with requisite training provided by the university if necessary. PhD in History or related field such as American Studies preferred; ABD considered. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusivity are required. Appointment to begin August 16, 2024.
