The Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation undergraduate program in Exercise Science provides students with the scientific knowledge of the underlying principles of exercise training through instruction and practical experience. Students receive instruction in the areas of exercise physiology, biomechanics and exercise psychology. Additional experience is gained through an internship placement in a fitness or clinical setting. Upon graduation, students are prepared for employment in areas such as health clubs, fitness centers, personal training, corporate fitness, and cardiac rehabilitation. The program also prepares students who desire to pursue a graduate degree in the exercise sciences, with the PT option and OT option preparing students to pursue physical therapy or occupational therapy degrees.
