Online Ethics Training
As university employees, we are required to comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act. The Ethics Act establishes expectations for employee conduct including the proper use of state resources and property, and the requirement that we conduct university business with honesty and integrity.
-
- All University employees are required to complete ethics training on an annual basis.
- You must complete the online course by accessing the training via D2L, Eastern Illinois University’s training platform at eiu.edu/d2l.
- Your login and password for this training are your current Net ID and password.
- Failure to complete this training may result in disciplinary action.
If you are a NEW employee this year, you may have completed ethics training for New Employees within 30 days of hire. You are still required to complete the annual ethics training online. Additionally, no paper certifications will be accepted.
It is expected that you will complete the training during your normal work schedule, and you may use any available University computer including your desktop computer and computers located in the Booth Library or Gregg Technology Center open labs. There are other computers that can be made available to you if these labs do not provide adequate flexibility for your schedule. If you elect to use your home computer, you will not be paid overtime for completing the training.
Most EIU computers are compatible with the Ethics Training site. When visiting the Ethics Training site you will need to use a compatible operating system and a modern web browser. If you encounter problems with the site, please review the following information for the documented compatible versions. If you are utilizing a compatible browser but continue to experience problems, you may contact the ITS Help Desk at 217-581-4357 (HELP).
