EIU Department of Educational Leadership

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships are available in the Educational Leadership Department. Assistantships are selected during the spring semester for the following academic school year. Assistantships provide a monthly stipend as well as tuition waiver scholarships in exchange for duties performed in research, teaching and service. The scholarship waives tuition only, not fees.

Educational Leadership Graduate Assistants

The Educational Leadership Department is pleased to offer graduate assistantship(s) to competitive applicant(s). Graduate assistantship offers are made during the spring semester along and work begins in the fall of each year, as funds are available.

a) CONTACT INFO: Please contact Dr. Cliff D. Karnes, Department Chair/Graduate Coordinator, via email (cdkarnes@eiu.edu) with questions. 

b) QUALIFICATIONS: Students must be current graduate students within one of the human service disciplines throughout the Graduate School at Eastern Illinois University. Preference is given to those graduate students seeking or currently holding a professional educators license. 

c) TIMELINE: Graduate students interested in a GA position, should send a letter of application and resume' to:  Educational Leadership Department, Eastern Illinois University, 2320 Buzzard Hall, 600 Lincoln Avenue, Charleston, IL  61920 (or via email at edadmin@eiu.edu). The application deadline is March 30. GA offers are made during the spring semester (usually by the end of April).
