International Students Employment Authorization

International students are unable to work off-campus, unless they are authorized for Curricular Practical Training (internships, financial hardship etc.) or Optional Practical Training (program completion). This is true even if it is an unpaid internship. If this authorization is not obtained, the student risks his/her immigration status in the United States.

To receive authorization, an employment authorization form must be filled out and sent to the International Office. This requires approval of the Graduate Coordinator/Academic Advisor and a letter from the employer.
