Our program is certified by the National Professional Science Master’s Association, and most courses are taught by tenured or tenure-track faculty. Dr. Michael Cornebise


Dr. Cornebise's research and teaching interests are in cultural and population geography. Please contact Dr. Cornebise for more information about the Professional Science Master's in GIS program.

Dr. Christopher Laingen

Associate Professor

Dr. Laingen's research involves assessing multi-decadal trends of rural and agricultural land use change in the conterminous U.S. and describing the complex web of socio-ecological driving forces that cause them. He relies highly upon land use and land cover change data products derived from remotely-sensed satellite imagery, as well as more traditional types of data such as those from the quinquennial U.S. Department of Agriculture's Census of Agriculture.

Dr. Barry Kronenfeld

Associate Professor

Dr. Kronenfeld is a geographic information scientist with focus on geovisualization and spatial statistics. Active research projects include analysis of spatial interaction between species, visualizing patterns of uncertainty in health data, and cartogram construction.
