Department Research celebration
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is proud of its active research program, involving both undergraduates (including chemistry and non-chemistry majors) and master's degree candidates. Every fall semester we celebrate our productive projects that cover a wide variety of disciplines within the chemical sciences (see the following link for faculty research interests) via a departmental symposium. These research efforts are supported by a wide array of state-of-the-art instrumentation (see the following link for a list of departmental instrumentation). A majority of the research groups are funded by external sources, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Petroleum Research Fund (PRF, administered by the American Chemical Society), the Research Corporation, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, and others.
