The Civil Service Council's purpose is to provide advisory counsel to the administration and the Employee Advisory Committee representative of the University Civil Service Merit Board regarding the general interest and welfare of non-negotiated civil service employees. We also review and make recommendations to the University regarding personnel matters involving Non-Negotiated Civil Service Employees.

The Civil Service Council seeks representatives to fill two-year terms from District II (Vice President for Business Affairs) beginning June 1, 2024 and ending May 30, 2026. All District II employees are eligible to run if they meet the following criteria: 1) permanent non-negotiated, 2) continuous non-union, 3) non-academic employee, and 4) not an off-campus contract appointment.

Winners will be notified on or around May 16, and the results will be posted publicly on the Council website and in the EIU newsletter.

The Civil Service Council will meet in accordance with the dates posted on the Civil Service Council Web page: www.eiu.edu/council. The Council meeting dates will be the second Tuesday of every month at 8:30 a.m.
