The Civil Service Council's purpose is to provide advisory counsel to the administration and the Employee Advisory Committee representative of the University Civil Service Merit Board regarding the general interest and welfare of non-negotiated civil service employees. We also review and make recommendations to the University regarding personnel matters involving Non-Negotiated Civil Service Employees.
The EIU Civil Service Council will hold an election to ratify revisions to its Constitution. Under Article XI, all amendments must “be ratified by the membership of the Organization by a two-thirds majority of those voting.“ Therefore, we ask for all non-negotiated civil service employees to participate in the election. It will occur online on April 17th, between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm. An email with a link to the ballot will be sent to all eligible non-negotiated civil service employees. If you have any questions, contact Michelle Morgan at 217-581-1107, KH 1030, mlmorgan@eiu.edu. Also, contact Michelle if you cannot access your email, and we will work with you to make your vote possible. To review the proposed amendments before the election, visit the below link or scan the QR code with your cell phone to access the document. On April 18, the results will be posted publically on the Council website and in the EIU newsletter.
