The mission of Campus Recreation is to provide EIU students, faculty and staff with informal and formal recreational activities regardless of ability.
We wish to promote a safe and enjoyable environment, encourage participation, and promote healthy lifestyles. Campus Recreation serves primarily EIU students because our facilities and programs are supported through required student fees.
All EIU faculty, staff and spouses are invited to join Student Recreation Center and Programs.
The Student Recreation Center (SRC) is available to EIU students and members. Lantz racquetball courts, pool, and field house are shared with Kinesiology and Athletic departments, and are available for general use during assigned hours.

The Student Recreation Center is a 6.4 million dollar, 70,500 square-foot, air-conditioned facility. The SRC opened in the Fall of 1991.
The Intramural Sports program offers students, faculty and staff opportunities to participate in structured team sprts, sport-related special events and racquet/paddle sports.
Participants compete in leagues and tournaments held year round. Choose from a variety of league types including: Independent, Residence Halls and Greek organizations.
