Information & Policies

General Information
  • The Informal Recreation schedule is effective August 19, 2024, through May 9, 2025, and is subject to change.
  • Facilities/facility areas may be closed to accommodate maintenance projects or operate at abbreviated hours when classes are not in session.
  • Facilities will be closed
    • Monday, Sept. 1, 2025
    • Saturday, Nov. 22 - Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025
    • Saturday, Dec. 20 - Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025
    • Saturday, Dec. 24, 2025 - Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2025
    • Monday, Jan. 19, 2026
  • Check for updated schedule information by calling 217-581-2820 or checking Campus Recreation social media.
  • Sports equipment is available for daily check-out at the SRC Office.
  • The Padovan Pool will be closed when the Student Rec Center is closed and for the summer.
Policies & Procedures
  1. All participants must possess a current Panther Card.
  2. Informal Recreation facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with challenge and shared-usage rules that apply when necessary.
  3. Secure all personal belongings. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
  4. Food or drink is allowed in the lobby area only.

About The Student Recreation Center
The Student Recreation Center is a 6.4 million dollar, 70,500 square-foot, air-conditioned facility whih opened in the Fall of 1991.

Indoor Student Recreation Center facilities include:
  • Six basketball courts, which may also be used as volleyball or badminton courts. Court 6 is enclosed for soccer, dodgeball, kickball, and wiffleball.
  • A 1/8 mile suspended jogging track and three multi-purpose areas for aerobic dance sessions, martial arts or other activities.
  • Two free-weight areas.
  • A cardio area including elliptical trainers, treadmills, stationary bikes, power mills, rower, a bag boxing area, TreadWall climbing machine, Life Fitness and Hammer Strength machines, Circuit Express (10), 2 stretching areas with medicine balls and exercise balls.
  • Student lounge with a big-screen television.
  • 32 security cameras
Outdoor Facilities Include:
  • Disc golf course
  • 8 outdoor basketball courts
  • 6 tennis courts
  • Intramural fields:
    • 4 softball diamonds (2 lighted)
    • 4 football/soccer fields (all lighted)
    • Outdoor pavilion
