The Center for Student Innovation wants to expand your ability to learn outside your major or discipline by offering Instructor-Tailored Workshops. These workshops are taught by faculty skilled in their line of study and offer you the chance to learn and apply skills outside your degree. You may even find new ways to apply these skills within your own field.

This workshop will introduce the fundamentals of data visualization in GIS, and specifically how to connect data in tabular form (e.g. Excel spreadsheets) with mapped features. Through a step-by-step tutorial, participants will create maps of agricultural production by county throughout the U.S. Tips and data sources for mapping other phenomena will also be discussed. Data and software provided; please sign up by February 24th to ensure software access.
