The Graduate School

• The Graduate School supports community engagement. The advisory council's recent book drive is just one example of the philanthropic activities taken on by EIU graduate students.
• April's annual Graduate Exposition Distinguished Student Awards Ceremony featured the Hamand Society of Graduate Scholars — reflecting the highest ideals of the engaged graduate student.
• The Graduate School proudly presents Outstanding Graduate Alumni Awards as part of its annual awards ceremony.
• Adam Stokes, M.A. in Economics, received this year's Distinguished Master's Thesis Award. Mentored by Ahmed Abou-Zaid, Ph.D., Stokes authored Forecasting Foreign Exchange Rates Using Artificial Neural Networks: A Trader’s Approach.

Graduate School Earns National and Regional  Awards

Since 1951, Eastern Illinois University has been committed to advancing the professional and personal lives of our students by providing graduate degree programs and graduate courses to support rigorous study and professional development.

Graduate study at EIU offers students a favorable faculty-to-student ratio in our 27 master’s degree and specialist’s degree programs as well as our seven certificate programs. Currently, more than 1,700 part-time and full-time graduate students are enrolled, and more than 300 faculty hold graduate faculty status.
