See below for audition details/requirements for each production for which you may audition.
The Theatre Department is excited to bring the hilarious 80’s rock musical Xanadu to EIU. We have auditions coming up in November, and this information should give you everything you need to know regarding that audition.
Auditions will be Tuesday, November 15th.
On Tuesday, we will have two specific audition calls:
You must be participate in both audition calls to be considered for the show.
Dance Call:
This will begin at 5:00, so make sure you arrive a bit early, warm-up, and stretch. You will want to wear comfortable and moveable clothing and shoes. The dance call will be led by guest choreographer from Atlanta, GA., Cindy Reiser.
Vocal Call:
You will prepare a 32-bar cut of a 70’s or 80’s rock song. Please mark your music clearly for the accompanist who will be provided for you. Make sure your music is memorized and that you tell a story through your song.
If you do not have the ability to choose a song, you may sing one of the songs provided below. There is one male song and one female song provided.
The vocal auditions will be held in 5 minute segments. To reserve your 5-minute time slot, please email lcox@eiu.edu for a specific time.

Callbacks:
Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, Nov 16th. If you are invited to the callback, you will receive an email after the auditions on Tuesday. Callbacks will not start until 6:30 PM on November 16th.
