For Colors is a show set in a meta black girl world with monologues happening all over the country, as the playwright expresses in her opening we are outside St Louis, New Orleans, New York...and few other cities I see this as an opportunity to cast diversely because a Colored Girl in New York could be Afro Latina or Asian or any number of things. So I am looking to utilize the diversity in the department and also to educate non minority & non-cis binary actresses unto empathy for women of color through color inclusive casting. I hate to say color blind I identify more as color brave and what better way to show that than through creative casting of Colored Girls. As a repeat director and performer in the play myself I have participated in and produced very diverse productions already and understand at its core For Colored Girls is a play about women and I’m looking for women of all races who get the matierial on human level.
