Final Exam Schedule

There is a difference between “dropping” a course and “withdrawing” from a course. A drop occurs either prior to the start date of the class or by a specific deadline early in the term. (See the academic calendar below for the date) Tuition and fee charges are reversed for a dropped course. Withdrawal occurs after the drop deadline and students are held responsible for payment of the hours even though they are no longer enrolled in the class.

Registration is done online using the Panther Access to Web Services (PAWS) system. For assistance in registering for your courses, contact the Office of the Registrar at 217-581-3831.

Late Registration

Spring 2026 late registration ends on January 16, 2026. Register before the first class day to avoid the $25 late registration fee.
Fall 2026 late registration ends on August 28, 2026. Register before the first class day to avoid the $25 late registration fee.

Weekend or Short-Format Classes

For weekend or short-format courses meeting less than two weeks, the following will apply:

  • A student may register for the course through the first class day. 
  • The drop deadline will be the day prior to the first class day.  The withdraw period will be the first class day through the last class day.
  • A student may wait-list through the last day of the month prior to the class beginning.

For weekend or short-format courses meeting two to five weeks, the following will apply:

  • A student may register for the course through the first class day. 
  • The drop deadline will be through the first class day.  The withdraw period will begin the following day and end one week from the start date.
  • A student may wait-list through the last day of the month prior to the class beginning.

For weekend or short-format courses meeting six to fourteen weeks, the following will apply:

  • A student may register for the course through the first class day. 
  • The drop deadline will be one week from the start date.  The withdraw period will begin the following day and end one month from the start date.
  • A student may wait-list through the last day of the month prior to the class beginning
