Subject: Program analysis update
In October 2012, President Perry announced a program analysis initiative as one step in the implementation of the university's strategic plan. A 22-member steering committee was charged with developing an analytical template that will assist the university in making budget decisions in Fiscal Year 2014 and beyond.
In recent weeks, a draft of the steering committee's work has been circulated to campus governance groups for review and feedback. Further details about the program analysis initiative, including the most recent draft of the template developed by the steering committee, are posted at http://eiu.edu/programanalysis/.
Two open informational sessions about the program analysis initiative have been scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 9:00–10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, April 3, 3:00–4:00 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Effingham Room of the MLK University Union. These sessions will provide an overview of the program analysis initiative and the steering committee's work to date. The open sessions also will provide an opportunity for participants to provide recommendations and feedback on the current draft of the template.
The steering committee will reconvene in April to review and consider the feedback received and finalize the program analysis template. Comments and feedback regarding the template draft may be submitted through your representatives on campus governance groups or sent directly to any of the steering committee members.
