December 10 Deadline! State and University Employees Combined Appeal SECA
In these difficult economic times, charities struggle to sustain their mission. Even a small donation of $5 or $10 can make a world of difference to local and global organizations. Please consider a tax-deductible contribution through check or payroll deductions. Please go to http://www.secaillinois.org to review participating organizations and to download a contribution form.
For printed booklets and contribution forms, please contact Mai Dao, mtdao@eiu.edu, in the Budget Office, Old Main Room 1117. Please send all forms and contributions to Mai. Note the December 10 deadline.
Some special notes:
--$1 per paycheck will cover the cost of a hospital blood count for a sick child.
--A $7 donation per week will pay for an athlete to compete in Special Olympics for one year.
--$5 per week can provide housing, a meal and assistance toward self-sufficiency to 20 homeless individuals.
--$10 per paycheck will purchase a lightweight wheelchair for a person who is physically challenged.
--One in four state/university employees directly receives benefits from at least one of the 11 SECA charities.
