Subject: Upcoming changes to "eiuwifi" and residence hall network access
Apple Computer Users
Beginning Wednesday, September 28, 2011 all "eiuwifi" wireless connections and residence hall wired connections using Apple computers, that are not running antivirus software, will be receiving a notification upon logging in to Safe-Connect. The notification will contain links about Apple compatible antivirus software. These will be notification only statements at this time.
Beginning January 1, 2012, all Apple computers will be required to have antivirus software installed, running, and up to date in order to access "eiuwifi" and residence hall networks.
Hand Held Devices
Beginning Wednesday, September 28, 2011 all mobile and hand held devices will require authentication through Safe-Connect to get to the "eiuwifi" network. Users will be required to authenticate once per semester.
