Subject: Mandatory Ethics and Cybersecurity Training – Action Required
Dear Employee,
As part of our ongoing commitment to compliance and security, Eastern Illinois University requires all employees to complete two mandatory training courses: annual Ethics Training and Cybersecurity Training.
Please carefully review the information below and complete both trainings by October 31, 2026.
1. Ethics Training
As required by the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, all university employees must complete annual ethics training to ensure we conduct university business with integrity and proper use of state resources.
Training Period: October 1 to October 31, 2026.
How to Access: The training is available online through D2L at EIU’s Training Platform. Log in with your Net ID and password.
Important Notes:
Completion of this training is required, even if you completed the New Employee Orientation earlier this year.
No paper certifications will be accepted.
Training should be completed during regular work hours. University computers are available at Booth Library, Gregg Technology Center, or other locations.

2. Cybersecurity Training
In today’s digital environment, protecting our university’s data is a priority. All employees must complete the annual Cybersecurity Training to help safeguard Eastern Illinois University against cyberattacks.
Training Duration: Approximately 30 minutes.
How to Access: The training is delivered through the Litmos Learning Platform and can be accessed here. You will also receive reminders from cybertraining@eiu.edu.
Questions or Issues: For help, contact the EIU Help Desk at 217-581-4357.

Failure to complete either training by October 31, 2026, may result in disciplinary action.
