Subject: New EIU State Universities Employee Advisory Committee Representative Appointed

Dear Civil Service Employee:

I am pleased to announce Tony Craven, Brickmason Foreman in EIU’s Facilities Planning & Management, was newly appointed to a four-year term to the State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee. His term will begin January 1, 2021 and extend through December 31, 2024. Mr. Craven will assume the seat currently held by Mr. William Burnside, also a member of EIU’s Facilities Planning & Management team. Mr. Burnside’s committee term will end December 31, 2020.

The State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Merit Board on all matters pertaining to SUCSS. There are currently 19 total members from the broader State University collective. EIU’s EAC representative also serves as a resource to any civil service employee on emerging civil service issues, discipline, or other civil service matters of interest.

Mr. Craven has been an employee of EIU since January of 2000. His knowledge of the University and the Civil Service System will serve him, EIU, and the advisory committee in every capacity.

A big “thank you” to Mr. Craven for his desire to represent EIU on this committee. Likewise, an equally big “thank you” to Mr. Bill Burnside for his past and current service.
