Subject: Use of confidential bins on campus

Records Management would like to remind employees that the confidential shredding bins should be used for confidential information only.  These bins are delivered on request and should not to be used for general recycling of non-confidential material such as newspapers, magazines, textbooks, cardboard, phone books, food containers, or any other type of non-confidential material.  The shredding facility continues to receive bins full of such items.


 


 


Also, when a bin is full, please do not place the bin outside where rain or snow can gather in the bin.    Wet or moldy material cannot be processed thru the shredding machine.   Please notify work control at eiumaint@eiu.edu  when the bin(s) need to be picked up for delivery to the shredding facility


 


 


For recycling goods such as non-confidential paper products, aluminum, and plastic, please use the proper containers located on campus.
