Subject: EIU Parking Update

Dear EIU Student,

I am contacting you regarding parking on the Eastern Illinois University campus.  As a student, you are allowed to park in any student or student/staff lot, with a few exceptions, as long as you are displaying a valid parking permit.  Student lots have blue signs, and student/staff lots have green signs.  Areas marked by a white sign (the lot on the north side of Lincoln/Stevenson/Douglas, the student portion of the lot north of the softball field on 4th street and the student section in the north half of the W lot on 4th Street) are for vehicles displaying a valid upperclass student permit.  To qualify for an upperclass student permit, you must have 60 or more semester hours of credit or be 21 years old.

If you have any questions, please contact the Parking Services Division of the University Police Department at 217-581-5416.

Thank you, and I wish you a safe and successful school year.

Sincerely,

Chief Kent Martin

EIU Police Department
