Subject: Town Hall Invitations

Dear Campus Community,

As chair of Vitalization Academic Visioning Workgroup II, I invite you to two town hall meetings this month, where we will present the results of our analysis so far. Our focus has been three-fold: 1) to study the organization of academic colleges, schools and departments, 2) to study variable learning models, such as the academic calendar and online courses, and 3) to study tuition models.

The first meeting will be February 21 from 4-4:50 pm in Coleman Auditorium (Room 1255). We will present three key areas of organization: 1) how we present our academics to prospective students, 2) options for reorganizing academic colleges, 3) other proposals to enhance enrollment and/or increase efficiency.

The second meeting will be February 28 from 4-4:50 pm in Coleman Auditorium, where we will present our analysis of variable learning models and differential tuition.

We welcome your feedback, criticism, and ideas. If you cannot attend, we will post PowerPoint presentations from the meetings on the Vitalization website, and welcome you to email any member of the work group with your feedback. We plan to make our presentations brief, to allow time for your responses, but you may also email us later with feedback. We look forward to presenting our ideas, and receiving your feedback.

Sincerely,

Melinda Mueller, Professor, Political Science (mamueller@eiu.edu)
