Subject: Cost Containment Update
Dear Colleagues,
Beginning in the summer of 2009, the Council on University Planning & Budget (CUPB) began receiving cost savings ideas from faculty, staff, and students at Eastern. Suggestions were solicited from the campus community, reviewed by the appropriate vice president, and then implemented if feasible and approved. I have posted a letter on the CUPB website outlining the results of cost containment efforts. The letter can be found on the CUPB website at http://www.eiu.edu/~eiucupb/.
Cost containment efforts at the university will be ongoing. I thank CUPB and the campus community for diligently addressing cost issues. I appreciate your commitment and look forward to our identifying more cost savings measures.
