Eastern Illinois University invites all students doing independent research, scholarship, or creative activity in any discipline to share their work at the Student Research and Creative Activity Conference.
There will be diverse opportunities for sharing through posters, short presentations, panels, round-tables, performances, and displays of artwork. Students will have the opportunity to hone their skills as presenters and to talk about their work with fellow students, faculty, and staff from across the university.
EIU Student Research and Creative Activity Conference FAQ
What disciplines are welcome?
All disciplines taught at EIU have something to contribute to our understanding of the world and human experience, and so all are welcome.
What kinds of presentation will be featured?
These will range from presentations of research theses and senior recital pieces to collaborative research within classes, roundtables, and multimedia works. Artworks for display will also be welcomed Posters and oral presentations are typical but by no means the only kind of presentation available.
Can any student present?
Any student enrolled at EIU, undergraduate or graduate, may present. A faculty sponsor must support your participation in the conference, and you will be asked for his or her e-mail address when submitting the description of your proposal.
Why should I do this?
Participation in a conference like this builds your confidence, your resume, and your skills as a presenter of the results of your skills and abilities. These are essential elements of success after graduation, whether your next stop is the first step in your career or post-graduate study.
