Please note: This announcement is not related to the emergency exercise planned to take place Wednesday on the EIU campus.
Eastern Illinois University learned of a threatening message directed toward the institution. The threat was investigated and authorities concluded that EIU employees and the campus were not, and are not, in any danger from this threat.
An unidentified caller notified the university about the message, posted on a commercial bulletin board-type website. The posting apparently occurred late Monday night.
