Subject: Update - lynda.com log in!

Please note on June 3, 2014 we will be changing the log in procedure for lynda.com access. If you already have a lynda.com account or you are new to lynda.com you will need to log in by going to http://www.eiu.edu/lynda using your EIU Net ID and password. (You will no longer be able to log in at the Lynda.com homepage.)

Everyone with an EIU Net ID and password will have a new Lynda.com account beginning June 3. If you already have a Lynda.com account, instructions are listed below for importing history from your previous account into your new account which is only available the first time you log in to your new account.

As a reminder here are just a few of the benefits to using lynda.com:
*Courses include a wide variety of technology and disciplines
*Up-to-date content helps to keep your skills current
*New courses are added every week
*Access to instructors? exercise files let you follow along as you watch tutorials
*Closed captioning and searchable, time coded transcripts for increased comprehension
*Beginner to advanced courses to learn at your level
*Watch complete courses or individual tutorials as you need them

To learn more, we suggest that you watch the introductory movie about the service, and watch How to use lynda.com. Both videos are linked on the http://www.eiu.edu/lynda page.

To create a lynda.com profile or to log into your existing account go to http://www.eiu.edu/lynda/.

Upon first log in you will have the opportunity to transfer your history from your previous account (please note this is only available upon your first log in). If you transfer your history you will be asked for your previous log in credentials: You will receive confirmation that your history has been transferred: Once your account is transferred you will continue logging in through our portal with your Eastern Illinois credentials.

Contact me if you have any questions or issues signing into your new lynda.com account.
