Subject: Student email migrating to Office 365 after Spring Semester

Eastern Illinois University is excited to announce student email will soon be powered by Office 365. Office 365 offers you 50 GB of email storage as well as 25 GB of cloud storage called OneDrive. This is a 100 times increase in available storage space.

Microsoft Office Pro Plus
Along with the move to Office 365, all students may now download Office Pro Plus (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) available on our Software Download page: https://www.eiu.edu/panthertech/selfhelp-article.php?id=178 . Microsoft Office Pro Plus will be available, at no cost, as long as you are a student at the university and licensing permits.
When will this happen?
- Migration of email accounts begins on May 14, 2014.
- You will be notified prior to the migration.
- A migration schedule will be posted on the Office 365 web page.
What do I need to do?
- You will continue to log in through the PantherMail login page you are accustomed to using.
- Watch the Office 365 page for a schedule of demonstrations across campus
- Watch your email as we move closer to the migration date
- After migration of your account, you will need to update any phone/tablet settings.
What will be moved?
- Email and individual contact information.
- Your Calendar, Contact Groups, Tasks and Briefcase items will not be moved to Office 365.
