Dear Employee:
You are receiving this e-mail because you have been identified as an employee of Eastern Illinois University. This notice and attachment provides important information about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
If you or your dependent family members do not maintain health insurance coverage, you may be impacted by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) which requires that nearly all individuals with income ranges above the tax-filing threshold secure health insurance coverage by January 1, 2014. Those who are not covered under a health care plan and who fail to enroll in a health care plan by January 1, 2014 will be subject to penalties when filing their tax returns.
As an employee, you may be enrolled in the State Employees' Group Insurance Program (SEGIP). Enrollment in this program satisfies your responsibility under the PPACA.
