The Daily Eastern News, is student-run news media organization that covers the campus and the community at Eastern with students, staff, faculty and local residents as its audience.
The staff publishes news daily across multiple digital platforms during the entire year. A color, print edition of the DEN is published weekly through the fall and spring semesters. DailyEasternNews.com was just named the state’s top news website for 2022.
Students run the newspaper – planning, reporting, editing, photographing, designing and making all news choices. A faculty of experienced journalists advise and support these student-journalists in their efforts. If you are interested in participating, contact director Joe Gisondi at firstname.lastname@example.org . Or, stop by the offices at Buzzard 1811 at any time during the semester. You can also follow the Daily Eastern News on Facebook, Instagram and X.
The Warbler is the university yearbook. At Eastern, a yearbook has been continuously published since 1919. Each year every full-time student receives a yearbook. Working out of the newsroom of The Daily Eastern News, The Warbler also is created on a computer pagination system which provides digital files that can be sent directly to the printer. The all-color yearbook serves as an excellent place for students to put their new editorial, graphic design and photography skills to work.
Diego Aparicio is the faculty advisor for The Warbler. Contact him at email@example.com, or in Buzzard 2417.
WEIU-TV and -FM Journalism students can receive a strong broadcast journalism experience through active work for News Watch, 30-minute newscasts and various sports and public affairs programs produced by the Radio and TV Center.
