Welcome to the website for the Illinois Higher Education Center! We have included information about our upcoming events & our most recent copy of the newsletter below. Within our website, you will find information related to professional development, technical support, internet resources and more.

Please feel free to browse the different resources we have on our site. Each should be free & easy to download for your use. We also have printed copies of a few resources available in our office. If you are interested, please email the IHEC staff at ihec@eiu.edu for more information. 

For more assistance, our staff is available during the week from 8a-4:30p to assist you. If you would like to request an on-campus consultation visit, please visit the "Services" tab and fill out the "General Service Request" form. One of our staff members will reach out to you with follow-up information.

Overview:

Whether we're tasked with conducting a student health survey or it's central to our job, it's critical that we make the most out of the opportunity by ensuring robust and proportionate participation. In this interactive session, participants will identify concrete and effective strategies to increase student turnout. Part Two in two weeks will address what do to once you've conducted the survey and received the data.

Overview: 

You've conducted your student health survey, received the data, now what? In this interactive session, we'll discuss effective ways to use the data to support your prevention programming, no matter what your level of data literacy. By the end of this session, you'll develop ideas on how to determine what's most relevant to your work, how to leverage it to advocate for your programs, build collaboration with key stakeholders, and effectively share out with various audiences (which can increase future participation). Bring your curiosity!

FY26 Survey Distribution:

Illinois Assessment of College Substance Use Behaviors Survey (IACSUB)

FY26 Administration Information now available!

We have updated the information on our tab regarding next year's survey administration. Similar to the previous administration of the survey, we ask all participating institutions to fill out our Machform and provide necessary documentation from your administration to participate. 

Registration: Open until February 9th, 2025

Distribution Dates: January-April 2026

Please visit our "Current Administration" tab under Statewide AOD Survey for more information.

 

Professional Development Needs Assessment

Purpose: Identify the scope of current professional development and the alignment with current needs, based on results from the previous assessment. Survey identifies the personal needs from staff members throughout the state, providing feedback into the ways we can meet the needs. 

Goal: Plan professional development services based on the feedback received from the respondents, combined with best-practice strategies. Utilize information to identify common themes, concerns, and areas for growth. 

Distribution Dates: April 14th - 28th, 2026
