About the Software Development Minor

The Software Development minor provides the foundational skills needed to build effective digital solutions. Students learn the practical steps necessary to engineer robust software, gaining experience in analyzing user requirements, designing architecture, writing efficient code, testing for quality, and deploying finished products.

Total Hours: 18-20 hours

12-14 Semester Hours from:

  • CIT 1813 - Introduction to Programming (C++) Credits: 3
  • CIT 2183 - Software Development for Technology I. Credits: 3
    OR
    CSM 2170 - Computer Science I. Credits: 4
  • CIT 2283 - Software Development for Technology II. Credits: 3
    OR
    CSM 2670 - Computer Science II. Credits: 4
  • CIT 2803 - Operating Systems for Computer Technology. Credits: 3

6 Semester Hours from:

  • CIT 3863 - Cloud Services. Credits: 3
  • CIT 3883 - Virtualization Technologies. Credits: 3
  • CIT 4770 - Database and Data Management. Credits: 3
  • TEC 4970 - Special Topics in Technology. Credits: 1 to 4
