Graduate assistantships are offered in every graduate program as well as non-academic units such as Housing and Dining and the Center for Academic Technology Support (CATS). Assistantships provide a monthly stipend in exchange for duties performed in research, teaching and service, as well as a tuition waiver scholarship. The scholarship waives tuition only, not fees.
Applicants need to submit their application online. The deadline to consider assistantship applications for most units is mid-February. Links to the online application and other resources can be found elsewhere on this page.
CATS offers technology development free of charge to graduate assistants. The Graduate School encourages assistants to take advantage of these workshops. information can be found by clicking here.
Graduate assistant orientation is available via WebCT. If you are a new assistant starting in Fall 2012, you should log in to WebCT using your EIU NetID and password to complete the orientation. All necessary information and forms can be accessed from the "Graduate Assistant Orientation" on Web CT.
