In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, EIU is proud to launch the first virtual Homecoming Week celebration scheduled to take place Sept. 28–Oct. 3. This year's virtual Homecoming Week celebration is a unique opportunity to keep the spirit of EIU alive - from a distance! - and maintain the health and safety of the EIU and Charleston communities.
While this year's Homecoming Week will not feature such time-honored traditions as the parade, tailgate and football game, pep rally, and pancake breakfast, the spirit-filled week will still feature a variety of in-person and virtual opportunities for EIU students, faculty, staff and alumni to create "new" traditions and showcase their Panther Pride!
A male student, Tom Wade, ran for homecoming queen in 1974. When all the votes were counted, Wade had won third place. See more great moments in EIU Homecoming History.
