EIU Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology

WAYS TO GIVE BACK

Please consider helping to continue the tradition of distinguished teaching, learning, research, and service in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology by making a gift to support students and faculty.

Funding Scholarships

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology has four student scholarships -- the Stan, Dee, and Meagan Braden Scholarship; the Robert and Luz Whittenbarger Scholarship; the Alumni Scholarship; and the Richard and Kathy Hummel Scholarship -- that you can donate to by going to https://www.eiu.edu/giving.php, selecting "other gifts" from the drop-down menu, and writing in the name of the scholarship of your choice in the "special instructions" box.

Donating Directly

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology maintains a gift account, which is used to fund the annual department Honors Reception, student activities, the annual faculty retreat, and other initiatives including ongoing renovations to our new student study lounge. To give to this fund, go to https://www.eiu.edu/giving.php and select "Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology" from the drop-down menu.

Buying a Brick

EIU alumni have the unique opportunity to leave a lasting, tangible legacy by investing in an engraved brick or paving stone for the EIU Commemorative Courtyard. By investing in an engraved brick or paving stone, you are acknowledging and honoring your time and accomplishments on campus or helping to memorialize friends or family members who would be proud to know they've been recognized with a lasting tribute to their time on campus. Personalized bricks and paving stones will be permanently and proudly displayed in EIU’s Commemorative Courtyard near the Library Quad, leaving an enduring impression that current and future generations of our growing EIU family can celebrate for years to come. And the best part is that 80% of all brick and paving stone investments can be designated to support a scholarship, college, department, or program of your choice. Check out https://www.eiu.edu/alumniassociation/courtyard.php to check out all of the available options.
