The mission of the Specialist in Educational Leadership (EDL) is to provide more advanced and intensive graduate study of educational administration This degree requires a minimum of 33 semester hours above the Master's Degree. Individuals admitted to the EDS program who hold a general Administrator or Principal Endorsement, and have a minimum of two (2) years administrative experience in possession of that endorsement, are also eligible to apply to the SEP. Upon completion of SEP and passage of the required test(s) and administrative academies, individuals are eligible for the Illinois Superintendent Endorsement.
