AND GRADUATE TUITION WAIVERS

Continuing Professional Development Hours (CPDHs)

It is our goal during the experience of hosting an EIU student teacher to help cooperating teachers increase their knowledge and skills relative to collaboration and reflection so as to improve student learning. Based on this effort, we are able to offer cooperating teachers Continuing Professional Development Hours (CPDHs).  Cooperating teachers who host a full-time student teacher for an entire semester are eligible for 30 CPDHs; cooperating teachers hosting students teachers on a split or shared assignment (e.g., half-time) are eligible for 15 CPDHs.

These CPDHs are issued, under the rules for award CPDH credit, based on your sustained work with our student teachers where you had the opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills relative to collaboration and reflection on your own professional practice so as to improve student learning.

If you would like to receive these CPDHs, you are required to completed the ISBE evaluation form 77-21A (linked here) and return it by email to Ms. Shannon Bell (sybell@eiu.edu) by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.  Our office will process and return the completed evidence of completion forms by the end of May, 2024.

Graduate Tuition Waivers

We are pleased to offer EIU Graduate Tuition Waivers to cooperating teachers who host EIU student teachers. Cooperating teachers receive three hours of graduate tuition waivers for hosting a student teacher full-time for 15 weeks, or two hours of graduate tuition waivers for hosting a student teacher in a split or shared assignment.

If you wish to receive these graduate tuition waivers, please click here to access the online request form by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
