VIEWPOINTS: the power of music on the mind

Thursday, January 14

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. | Virtual (Zoom Webinar)

Join us for our January Viewpoints, featuring Kelly Willenborg, M.A., Eastern Illinois University alumna, Brain Health Gerontologist, and music interventionist.

For 16 years, Kelly has used music, movement, and meaningful engagement to support people living with dementia and Parkinson’s. It’s work that started with her master’s degree in Aging Studies at EIU. Since then, she’s founded MyMemoryWorx, the nonprofit behind the Healing Headset Music Project, and created Peace for Parkinson’s and ParkinsonsCurious.org.

Kelly will also introduce her newest project, Game On! It’s a one-stop digital platform that combines music, movement, games, and reminiscence. With just a few clicks, facilitators can plan engaging group sessions for older adults, including people living with memory loss.

Join us for an engaging conversation, inspiration, and connection as we celebrate another Panther making a meaningful impact in her profession and community.

Advanced Registration is required. Eastern Illinois University is committed to providing accessible experience for all guests. If you require an accommodation to fully participate in this event, please contact Alumni Relations at alumeiu@eiu.edu.
