The Panther Marching Band include students from nearly every discipline on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. The band is known for its sound and spirit, energizing audiences throughout the Midwest. The PMB regularly supports many local and regional events and are privileged to be an important part of EIU and Charleston, IL.

Whether before, during or after the game, the Panther Marching Band strives to support its team, entertain its fans, and promote the university.

2018 Pre-Season Week Registration

2018 Pre-Season Week Registration

Pre-Season Week takes place Aug.12-19 and is mandatory for all Panther Marching Band Members. 

Deadline to register and guarantee a spot on the field is July 20. 

Auditions are required for Color Guard and Drumline which take place on campus on April 21 (Guard) and 28 (Drumline). See Auditions page for details. There is no audition for woodwind and brass players.

Panther Marching Band Scholarships

Deadline Extended

The Panther Marching Band has $10,000 in scholarships available to incoming woodwind, brass, and percussion students who would like to be a part of this energetic and fun ensemble! All incoming non-music major students are eligible to apply. Awards will be made based upon experience, quality of performance, and the needs of the ensemble. Interested students should click on the link below to complete the application. Please be prepared to write a brief statement about why you want to be a part of the Panther Marching Band and to submit a very brief playing audition via YouTube. The playing audition should include 1 major scale and a 1-minute playing excerpt. You can choose whatever major scale and musical excerpt you prefer.  

Remaining scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Apply as soon as soon as possible for maximum consideration.
